Literacy Lady PDX

Hi Literacy Lovers, I am Sarah, Literacy Lady PDX! 

I am overjoyed to have the opportunity to connect with numerous communities in the Portland Metro area. Sharing the gift of literacy has been a passion of mine for as long as I can recall!

As a child, I was captivated by the world of books (and that fascination still holds today). Some of my cherished reads were the Ramona Quimby books, Anne of Green Gables, The Babysitters Club, and the back of the cereal box at breakfast. I always harbored a dream of working with children in a meaningful way that involved the magic of reading. 

One of the most rewarding aspects of my storytimes and Bookworm Buddies Experiences is the opportunity to unite people and help children and their caregivers forge new connections. Witnessing the growth and development of each child fills my heart with joy every time we meet. I am dedicated to collaborating with local businesses and ensuring that as many books as possible reach children and families.

I have a B.S. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis on Child and Family Studies and Conflict Resolution from Portland State University. I have always loved working with the whole family in my over 20 years of experience as a Nanny in Portland and NYC.

If you spot me at an event, please say hello! I'll likely have a sticker and a high-five ready to share. I'm always excited to meet new families and share the joy of literacy with them!
